Trout Maintenance 5/18/20

Greetings Trout Family,

Wow! The trout are really getting big! The majority of the trout are about an inch in length (there is one that is about 1 1/4 inches). This video shows me doing some Trout Maintenance - adding 4 gallons of water (treated with NovAqua Plus to help with the minerals in the tap water), changing out the basket around the filter, and adjusting the water flow.

Family and friends have been asking a couple questions:

1) When is the trout dinner? Well, that won't be for a while! These trout will not be very filling. Did you know that trout can get up to 3 feet long!?

2) Do you want to release the trout in my little pond so you can monitor? I don't mind that, but these trout cannot reproduce. We do not want breeding wild trout with trout raised in containment. Their offspring might not be able to survive with the lack of survival instincts. Ex: We are not going to breed a wild dog with a house pet.

Only a couple more weeks until they are released!

Until then,

Happy Fishing!

-Ms. Rowe
